Problem guide
When your teleprompter stops or loses your place
If voice following stops, check microphone access, background sound and whether the words you say match the script. Try a short passage before changing everything at once. If tracking still drifts, switch to fixed-speed or manual prompting so you can finish the recording. A voice-following feature is useful only when it fits your language and recording environment.

Match the symptom to the next check
| What happens | Try next |
|---|---|
| Nothing moves when you speak | Confirm microphone access and try a short script in a quiet room. |
| The highlight jumps ahead | Remove headings you will not read and return to the intended line. |
| A repeated sentence loses its place | Pause, select the restart line and repeat a shorter section. |
| It works alone but not with music | Reduce background playback and repeat the same passage. |
Recover without rewriting the whole script
Keep the original
Save a copy before editing. Use a short test section with ordinary spoken sentences, a pause and a repeated line.
Change one thing
Check permission, sound and script wording separately. That makes it easier to identify which change helps.
Resume deliberately
In AI Teleprompter, select the intended line before trying again. Do not assume a tracker will understand an improvised paragraph.
Choose a fallback
Use fixed speed for rehearsed delivery or manual controls for frequent interruptions. Check the saved take before moving on.
Language and offline use are separate questions
An app having a translated interface does not establish which speech languages it recognizes. Test the language and accent you actually use. If offline use matters, check that exact workflow before relying on it away from a connection.
Offline capability is decided per language, not per app. Apple exposes a flag for whether a given language supports on-device recognition; where it is unavailable, speech is sent to a server and a lost connection stops the follow. Put your device in airplane mode and record 30 seconds before you plan a shoot without a network.
Questions before you record
Will switching apps guarantee better recognition?
No. Compare the same script, microphone, language and room. A different control mode or a simpler script may solve the immediate recording problem without switching products.
